This year there are representatives from Sheffield Girlguiding going on Regional and County trips to Slovakia, Russia and the International Scout and Guide Jamboree in Essex.

G@SSS Ski - 2009 Snow Camp

Picture of ski liftIf you will be 14 years old by early 2009 and like the idea of a Senior Section Ski trip, in February half term 2009 then please do contact me and say so NOW!

This is a first for Girlguiding Sheffield, and until we have some idea how many G@SSS members and their leaders are interested, we can only talk in possibilities. The suggested date may seem a lifetime away, but the 18 months will allow us to plan, prepare, fund raise and save!

The facts are ….

  • Coach travel, to a Chalet in Austria, where we will self cater

  • Tuition, boots, skis and ski passes all arranged.

  • Nine days away, 6 days ski-ing, travel and ski insurance

  • Cost: as always, we will make the price as competitive as possible (and encourage non-wage earners to fund raise) but be prepared for about £600

There will be an opportunity to discuss the equipment you would need to take, the equipment you will be able to hire, your expectations of what a ski holiday is all about, get to know your fellow skiers, and visit a local ski centre for an introduction session.
