WOODCHIP 8
The next Woodchip weekend will happen 24-26 February 2012
-
Have you heard of WOODCHIP?
-
Would you like a FREE weekend at OAC? i.e. you pay nothing!!
-
Are you aged 14 – 25?
It’s a great opportunity to give something back to
Girlguiding Sheffield and the OAC whilst working hard, playing hard, making some
new friends, and (of course) having a lot of fun!
Woodchip is so called because at the very first weekend about ten years ago we
moved an awful lot of woodchip that had been delivered for the adventure
playground and wasn’t of very good quality, so we needed to clear it and get
some more. Everyone had such a good time that we decided to hold a similar
weekend working for the OAC again and again. It hasn’t happened for the last
couple of years so 2012 is the time to revive it!
Sign up for it now – places are limited!
Complete the form overleaf and send it to: Woodchip Weekend, Girlguiding
Sheffield, Guide House, 41 Townhead Street, Sheffield S1 2EB by 31 December
2011.
We are asking for everyone to send a cheque for £10 with their application,
which will be returned when you attend the weekend. Please make it payable to
GIRLGUIDING SHEFFIELD. If you do not attend we shall retain the money to cover
the food and other expenses that we have had in the belief that you would be
there.
More details about what to bring, permission and health forms will be available
nearer the time.

Walkabout 2012
This is a sponsored event to raise money for units and Plimsoll redevelopment. Each division will be responsible for organising their own walk on either the Saturday or the Sunday. Help will be given with planning if required and there may also be the option to join a guided walk. Each division will be required to sort out a planning team so start looking out for willing volunteers now! More information to follow
Sports Festival
This will be a fun filled, action packed day for all sections. Units will be encouraged to start activities in their own meeting place in the run up to the event. Basic sports leadership training will be on offer early in 2012 for any leader or young leader aged 16+ so that they can confidently lead physical activities. Keep an eye out for more details
