We’ll attempt to clear the fog, or at least change it to a lighter shade of blue!

Open to ALL interested parties, whether coming on board as a leader, a helper, a treasurer etc etc, or a parent willing to support from time to time

Please arrive for 7.15 if possible, so we can welcome guests and begin the evening with refreshments.

Grand Walk and Picnic in Graves Park

15th May 2010 10.30am - 1.30pm

(Served by the 20, 20A, 53, 25 Bus Services)

  • Walk to the park or just around it.

  • Come as a unit, district or with Guiding friends.

  • Meet up with the rest of the County for a giant picnic.

  • Bring a game to play with your unit and why not ask others to join in?

Turn up throughout the day. Take advantage of the walks through the woods, the Animal Farm and the Open Space and all get together for a picnic by the Rose Garden Cafe around 12.30pm.

The Park Rangers will be available for Activities (parachute games, bug hunts, etc) Approximate numbers will be required.

The Walk badge pictured above will be available at £1 per person – please order on form below.

Rainbow Centenary Princes Party

Information for leaders

The Rainbow Princess Party will be a fun event for Rainbows of all ages. There will be party games, dancing, activities and much more for them to enjoy. Every one (including adults) is invited to come dressed as your favourite princess and join in the fun. All units must be accompanied by two adults, and if travelling together or meeting away from the Octagon must ensure they have the correct ratio of adults to children(1:4)

  • Where: Octagon Centre, Sheffield University

  • When: Sunday 13th June 2010

  • Times: 2.00 – 4.30 (arrival from 1.30 at the earliest please)

  • Cost: £6.00

  • Travel: The Octagon centre is easily accessible from the tram and there are many buses that pass by. Please use public transport wherever possible. Car parking is limited.

Each Rainbow on the day needs:-

  • To come dressed as a princess

  • A label with her unit name/number and leaders name only on it.

  • Packed party tea in a small rucksack or lunchbox. NB Drinks will be provided

Please copy the participant application form( on page 5), distribute to the girls in your unit and keep each signed participant form to bring along with you on the day. Please do not send these forms in with your application or to the Guide Office.

Islands County Camp

26th to 30th August 2010

Islands camp will give Guides, Brownies and their leaders the opportunity to enjoy a large scale camp with lots of exciting activities. Girls will be in sub-camps, either in the OAC or on the adjacent Common Land, but will meet up for challenging, but fun experiences on and off site, to suit all tastes, from adventurous activities to arts and crafts. Guides may attend without their leader. Leaders do not need to hold a camp licence for this event. Information about permission and health forms will be issued nearer the time.

  • Where: Outdoor Activities Centre, Whiteley Woods, Common Lane

  • When: Guides - Thursday 26th to Monday 30th August, 2010; Brownies – Friday 27th to Monday 30th August, 2010

  • Cost: £100 per Guide, £80 per Brownie. Price includes all food, activities, site fees, a T shirt and badge. Guide Leaders will be charged £25, Brownie Leaders £20, to cover food, T shirt and badge (may be taken out of Unit funds)

Deposit of £30.00 per girl to be paid by 31st March 2010

Balance and Leaders fees to be paid by 30th June 2010
