So, you want to know more?
Do we still
go camping and make things with sticks and string? Do we still learn bandaging and
how to make a good cup of tea? Yes we do. But we also do a whole lot more than
that.
In recent years, the whole image of Guiding has been modernised, right down to the uniforms. However, the traditional values have not been lost. We are still an organisation that enables girls and young women to fulfil their potential and to take an active and responsible role in society through its distinctive, stimulating and enjoyable programme of activities delivered by trained volunteer leaders. Our Vision is to be recognised as the leading organisation for girls and young women and to widen and increase its membership.
Guiding in Sheffield is thriving. But having more leaders means that we can open up the opportunity of Guiding to more girls and give existing members a wider and more varied programme.
What's in it for me?
The pay isn't very good (we only take volunteers) but the rewards and satisfaction you will get from working with the girls are worth their weight in gold.
We don't have a pension scheme but the Trefoil Guild will welcome you and make you feel at home.
We do offer free training and the chance to gain qualifications such as first aid and health and hygiene.
The organisation is world-wide so there is the opportunity to travel abroad, and the chance to make new friends is around every corner.
Whether you can give us a regular weekly commitment or whether it is just help now and again, we will be able to find a Unit close to your home that will welcome you with a friendly face, open arms and, if you're lucky, a good cup of tea!
