New to Sheffield?
A warm welcome from Girl Guiding Sheffield if you have just arrived in Sheffield
to start studying. The fact that you've come to this site must mean you have
some interest in Guiding and hopefully you have come to it to find out about
offering your time to help the Guiding cause in some way. Please get in touch
with our student co-ordinator Gail Paterson via
students@sheffieldguides.org.uk
to discuss what opportunities are available and what time and skills you have to
offer.
If you are not a student, we still want to hear from you! Please ring or email our office - you will find the details on our home page - and we can talk about what you can offer GirlGuiding Sheffield.
We are always in need of help whether you are a warranted leader, completing the ALQ, have been a Brownie or Guide in the past but never been a leader or have never been part of the organisation but are interested now. You don't have to commit to helping out every week and our existing leaders are very aware of the pressures of studying. So why not drop Gail and email and see where Guiding in Sheffield can take you? Note please subject your email 'Volunteer' and include what type of help you want to offer and an evening contact number.
Are you free on Sunday 22nd November? You are? Great! Make a note that our first (deep breath) ‘young person involved in guiding in Sheffield in some way who may or may not be new to the area and may or may not be a student’ get together is happening on that day.
The plan so far is to meet in the city centre late morning, head out to the OAC on the bus and then have something to eat and a chat. Most importantly we will be trying to come up for a catchier name for the group! Could this be the start of the mini trefoil?!
Let me know if you are interested in coming or want to know more
If you are a leader or district commissioner that needs additional help for the coming year have you considered enlisting the help of a student? Whether you need someone with a warrant, a regular helper or just the occasional extra pair of hands a student could fit the bill perfectly. If you have a need that you think a student could fill or any other questions please get in touch with Gail via students@sheffieldguides.org.uk .Note please subject your email 'Help needed' and include the location, time and day of the meeting, what type of help you need, and how urgent it is.
